Marriage is a Lifetime commitment

Marriage is a lifetime commitment, because marriage is God’s idea, as the bible says in Genesis 2:18, 21-24 “ The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him…and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh.

Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.’ For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and they will become one flesh. As the bible says, marriage is truly designed for intimacy and companionship.

A good marriage is unique to every couple. There is no formula for a perfect marriage. It’s not even a bed of roses. Making a marriage work is a mutual effort by the couple. Once you decided to get married, the couple is already committed to bringing out the best in each other and must know how to accept each other’s mistakes and weaknesses, forgive and compromise.

A marriage will work when there is no pride between the couple when LOVE is still alive even in times of distress, tussles, or even when things don’t turn out right. Whatever your reasons or purpose for getting married, bear in mind that the ultimate foundation that will make it work is the LOVE that is being shared from the beginning of the relationship up to making plans of building your own family and spending the rest of your life together as husband and wife. Always remember, a successful and great marriage is not about perfect couples coming together, it is when the imperfect couples learn and accept each other beyond imperfection.

There is no formula for a perfect marriage. Finding the precise person who shares your meaning of an ideal and happy married life is fundamental to it. Between the couple, there should be UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, respect, trust, open communication, honesty, humility, appreciation, and outright commitment and fidelity.

Another factor that can make your marriage successful is to become each other’s best friend. You must share comparable goals and aspirations like a team and have respect for each other’s families.
